Intro 2009 TourSaturday 10 October 2009
These are the towers which I hope we will be able to visit. I am still awaiting confirmation from two of them, but as soon as I find out for definite I shall have this updated! All welcome!
The start of the 51st year was marked by coinciding it with this years Fresher's tour, arranged this year by our new ringing master, Dan. We drove out to the Peak district and rang at a number of towers, accompanied of course by an excessive amount of food - a cream tea/cooked breakfast replaced Chapel en le Frith, and we had a 2 hour lunch break.
The other towers which we rang at were a mixture of both lovely little bells and some quite hideous sounding bells! There we 11 people on the tour, a mixture of current students, alumni, and friends from Leeds Uni, which enabled us to ring both easy and hard things all day. We were lucky enough to cover a range from rounds and called changes to Superlative and Yorkshire surprise major.
Thanks go to Dan who organised the day, and all those who came - not forgetting Tom, our one fresher (so far!!).
